A lot can happen in 8 minutes. Most men know that a lot can happen in just five minutes, but they usually aren't too proud of it. While there are all kinds of things that can happen in 8 minutes we won't mention, there is a new one that is almost guaranteed to get you a date.
An up-and-coming service that has taken the dating community by storm is an even quicker version of the usual speed dating--8 minute speed dating. This is actually one of the best case scenarios for dating because you only have to talk to them for 8 minutes and never call them back or make up excuses for why you aren't interested. According to the site:
"8minuteDating is the Fast, Fun and Guaranteed way for single people to meet – live and in person. At 8minuteDating events, you'll have 8 one-on-one dates that last 8 minutes each. If both parties are interested in meeting again, we provide contact information so they can set up another date. We guarantee you'll meet someone you want to see again or your next event is on us!"
The service, which was started in January 2001 by Tom Jaffee, currently has over 60,000 customers, 150 Event Organizers, and hosts events in more than 70 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Make sure to register ahead of time in your area; it will usually cost you about $35-$45, which is cheaper than buying a woman drinks all night and never landing a date. If anyone sparks your interest, you write down their names on your card so you can input them into the website after the event. If she also wrote down your name, and entered it into the website, then 8 Minute Dating will provide you with her contact information so you can arrange to meet again.
The site also boasts quite a success rate: "Amazingly, over 98% of our customers tell us that they enjoy our events, over 90% meet someone who they want to see again, and over 60% of the time the interest is mutual, leading to a second date. Compare those odds to going to a bar!"
