We all love our cell phones. We couldn't live without them. In fact, we can't even remember what life was like before we had 'em. But we do have to admit that checking our voicemail pretty much sucks. You have to dial up the number, put in your code, press a button to continue, press another button to delete or save and just try to hear what that hot girl that finally called you at 2 AM is saying after a few drinks in a noisy club. Forget about it.
The people at Simulscribe have come up with a technology that (by the looks of the website) they seem to be marketing to investment banker types with strange names like Lucas but may actually help you not to miss that call. It utilizes "cutting edge voice recognition technology" to convert your voicemail messages into text messages or emails.
All you have to do is sign up, record a personal message and wait for your voicemails to come to you in text form. An audio file will also come attached to the message so you can opt to listen to it if you don't exactly remember where you met the third "M" in your phone's address book.
We especially like that you don't actually have to call the person back because you are given the option of texting them instead. Check out www.simulscribe.com for more information -- right now they're supposedly offering the first month for free BUT one of our readers reported this morning that this was not the case. So, be careful where you stick your credit card!
