Casino Royale will soon hit theaters, and it's really something we are looking forward to. This film promises to be different from the rest. We all know that it will bring some changes to the Bond franchise, including a new, younger, blonde Bond, played by actor Daniel Craig.
Craig recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight's Mary Hart to shed some light on the new film and how he portrays Bond."My job is not to repeat something that someone else has done. I love Bond, and we all grew up with it, and it's very precious to me, so I'm trying to look after itand I'm trying to take it somewhere else so that, with or without me, it lasts another how many years. That's the deal here."
Some has called Casino Royale a remake of the 1967 film. But, during the course of the interview, Craig also managed to set it all straight.
"The Casino Royale that was made [in 67] was a comedy. It was based upon the book, but actually had very little to do with the book. It had about 10 directors, I think, and 10 writers and 10 James Bonds, and it's nothing to do with this. This [movie we're doing now] is Ian Fleming's Casino Royale. It's very close to the book."
