People overseas always seem to luck out with getting the best gadgets before U.S. residents do. We just found out that the UK offers their cell phone customers what could be, by far, one of the coolest cell options we've ever heard of. It's a phone that screams like a person when stolen!

Any UK resident who has a phone equipped with Remote XT software, a service that goes for about $17 a month, gets to scare the crap out of anyone who tries to steal their cell phone. If a cell with the software is stolen, all the owner has to do is send the phone an alert from another phone. Then watch out, you phone stealer, because an extremely loud, extremely human-like scream will be emitted!

The only way to stop the screaming is to take out the battery. But, once that happens, the phone gets permanently deactivated and it's memory is completely wiped clean. So the thief ends up with a defunct phone and a pretty bad headache. Too bad, sucker!

Sky News has reported that cell phone theft in the UK has risen by close to 200 percent in the past couple of years, so a phone like this could really help to stop the thefts.Remote XT's Mark Whiteman told Sky, 'By making mobiles unusable to anyone but the rightful owner, the phones become worthless and we'll see (the) market for stolen handsets stamped out.

Remote XT has also claimed that their software could just about do away with cell phone theft in the next two years or so.
