The Mile High Club. Need we say more? Not everyone's a member, but we've all thought about it. How cramped would that bathroom be anyway? Most of the best, um, laid plans for flying the really friendly skies break down because of the fear of getting busted. Well, not anymore thanks to a former Arizona mortgage broker named Jeff Reidel.
Jeff Riedel decided to chart a new flight plan when the mortgage market was down and started Mile High AZ, a company that can help couples join the Mile High Club in the private comfort of a twin-engine Cessna 320. Although Riedel hasn't given up his day job, he says that the company is 'a heck of a lot more fun to talk about than being a realtor and mortgage broker.
Riedel modified the plane's cabin by removing the rear passenger seats in order to make room for the 'retro lounge jazz club.' The area features a black and gray motif with pillows, a stereo system, a champagne stocked bar, and, of course, a mattress. Passengers don't have to worry about a pervy captain watching their every move. The cabin and the pilot are separated by a 'thick curtain to ensure privacy.'
A trip on the love plane costs $750 for 90 minutes flight at 6,000 feet. The trips are based from the Chandler Municipal Airport. But, Riedel can also pick up customers from both the Phoenix Deer Valley or Scottsdale airports.
