Why does it take blondes longer to take tests?

According to a newly published German study, it's because they read dumb blonde jokes.
80 women of varying hair color were tested on their mental capacity to work quickly and precisely in a series of tests. Before taking the test, half of the women had to read dumb blonde jokes like:

What do blondes and beer bottles have in common? They're both empty from the neck up.

"But after exposure to negative social-stereotypes about them, the fair-haired participants performed significantly more slowly in the tests," said Jens Foerster, a social psychologist from the International University Bremen in Germany.

When people are told they can't perform a task well, they work more slowly to try to make fewer mistakes, explained Foerster.

The study shows that even unfounded prejudices can affect a person's confidence in their abilities.

So stop thinking that all blondes are dumb and we'll stop judging you based on your hand size. Deal?
