We love Paris Hilton. Really, we do. But one of her is enough. So, when we're poking around on myspace or internet dating sites late at night, why do all the girls seem so strangely, blondely, vacuously familiar?

It seems that the internet is scared of brains these days, and Cindy Embleton is sick of it. That's why Embleton founded IntellectConnect.com, a dating site where 'you don't need to apologize for having cerebral interests.'

IntellectConnect.com opened in July 2005, and already boasts approximately 3000 members that troll the site for buddies to take book-shopping, museum-hopping, and gallery-scoping. (Not a bad idea in metropolitan areas like New York City, where sometimes it's tricky to find companionship that doesn't involve alcohol.) The members have an open forum, where they organize events such as readings, screenings, and Trivial Pursuit Night.

Already love the one you're with? Embleton's got that covered, too. Her site organizes both 'singles events' and 'friend events.'
Embleton says that, in the future, she and IntellectConnect would like to shack up with other smart organizations for some smart events. She mentions quiz-making organizations and bookstores as possible collaborators.

Too broke for a Saturday night outing this week? The site is free, so hop on your trusty laptop and get your chat on with a sexy librarian or two.
