These researchers have invented what they call the Smart Closet; a closet that is every man's, and definitely every woman's, dream come true. It can help even the most fashion challenged guy choose a perfect outfit each and every time for just about any occasion.

The breakdown:

RFID tags need to be embedded in all of your clothing. These tags, which work along with electronic hangers, help to not only categorize the items that you own, but to help you mix and match them correctly and to properly accessorize them with your shoes, etc. They can also let you know when you last wore a certain item so you can make sure you don't show up for a second date wearing the exact same outfit you did on your first. You may not notice, but she certainly will, so the closet can nip the problem in the bud.

The Smart Closet will even tell you when you're clothes are ready for a trip to the dry cleaner. In addition to helping you choose what to wear and when, the closet has the ability to offer you your schedule, music, and news via your clothing. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, it does. Your clothes can also let you know when a call is coming in on your cell phone, and whether or not it is worth picking up. In addition, your clothing can also monitor your vital stats, such as your heart rate, to make sure that you're not only looking good, but also in tip top shape.

The one thing it can't do is make you look good if it has crappy clothing to work with. It's good, but it can't work miracles. Currently, the Smart Closet is still a prototype, so it isn't yet known when it will hit the market for fashion challenged men. It also isn't known how much the closet will cost once it does become available, but, hey, it's the price you pay for looking good.
