Being a best man isn't just an honor--it's also a job that comes along with a ton of responsibilities. You may think that your involvement in the wedding involves nothing more than booking the stripper for the bachelor party and showing up on the day of the wedding. However, your duties begin the second you agree to be the best man.

Bachelor party. You can do the obvious strip club party, but if his future wife forbids him from having strippers there, or going to a strip club at all, then there are still some great ideas that will make the party the best one ever. You can always go to the bar or club and drink until you can barely stand up or, you can plan a unique outing such as an overnight fishing trip or a weekend trip to Vegas to go gambling.

The Big Day. Once the big day has arrived, you will have the privilege of making sure the groom is ready and on time. The groom may be too nervous to even remember his name, so you'll have to make sure he has everything he needs for the big day, such as his tux, shoes, marriage license, rings, etc. Try not to give him too many shots so that he can still manage to make out "I Do."

The Speech. Spend some time on this and do not bring up your crazy trip to Cozumel or those hookers you guys met. This is the time to be a little sentimental about your friendship and also to talk about the couple. Throw in some humor, but try not to embarrass anyone.

The Afterparty. If they are staying at the hotel the reception is in, go with the maid of honor to decorate their bedroom. For your afterparty, do not sleep with the maid of honor or any bridesmaids if they are related to the bride. Friends are okay because you might never have to see them again, but family lasts a lifetime.
