Marcus, the son of Alexander Corvinus, is both the last surviving elder and the first true vampire. A bat bite caused the virus in him to mutate into that of the virulent Vampire strain. His twin brother, William, also met with a similar fate. However, in his case, it was a highly infectious bite from a wolf and it caused the region to become populated with violent Lycans. Marcus felt compelled to raise Vampire warriors to combat the Lycans.
He was due to be awakened for his elder reign by Amelia, but she was slaughtered by Lycans after being betrayed by Kraven. Instead, he found himself awakened with Lycan blood, that of scientist Singe, coursing through his veins. Marcus is now a horrible new breed with unbelievable powers.
Tony Curran, a native of Glasgow, plays Marcus. Although he graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Curran wasn't always an actor. He had once been a postman!
In addition to his various movie roles, may also know Curran for his role as The Invisible Man in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
