Wondering whether that hot girl on Match.com is really who she says she is? Stop by TrueDater to see if anyone has served up any dirt on her. You might be able to find out if she lied about her age or whether she is actually married. Basically, this site gives you the dirt on people who date online. For people who feel it is better to be honest in online dating, users are able to read reviews of whether people are telling the truth in their profiles on other dating sites like Match.com and MySpace, and meet other TrueDater.com members.
The brainchild of Mark Geller, a Stanford grad and ex-valley tech product manager, TrueDater.com reviews are entered by other TrueDater.com members, but some reviews are edited to remove content that might be offensive or does not speak directly to whether the information and pictures in the profile are accurate. While you might not find out if she gets around, you may find out what her real name is. "People would lie a lot," Geller says about dating site users. "They lie about their pictures, about their age. They just misrepresent themselves. It just seemed to me there should be a site where people can post feedback."
When entering reviews, TrueDater.com asks that users please be objective and fair and limit your public reviews to whether the information and pictures in the profile are accurate. They ask that you don't make broad generalizations about the person or reveal sensitive information about the person that is not referred to in the profile--stick to covering whether the information in the profile is accurate. You can also ask your friends to post testimonials on your behalf to confirm that the pictures and information in your profile are true and if someone writes about you being an asshole, you can post a review of your own profile to set the record straight.
