Every guy wants to impress a girl by showing her how much he knows about fine food, wine, and dining. But, finding the right restaurant can be as tricky as trying to unsnap a bra in one swift movement. If you are planning a date and don't know where to start, there are a few things you need to think about to find a restaurant that will impress your girl.
Food and Wine
To really impress a woman, you should look for a restaurant that has something unique on the menu. Instead of the usual pasta, steak or chicken dishes, look for a place that carries something they are known for. If you've never been to the restaurant before and aren't sure what to order, ask your waiter/waitress to recommend something to you. If you can't pronounce anything on the menu, skip it. If you've been there before, show your girl just how food savvy you are by recommended something yourself. When it comes to the wine list, you should know that the wines are usually listed by region and house. Many bottles are priced from around $30 to $300, although if you spend around $50, you can get a really great bottle that'll be sure to impress. If she is a lush, look for a restaurant that allows you to bring your own wine.
Price
You should never choose an outrageously expensive restaurant if you're on a budget. This can be embarrassing when you tell your date she has a spending limit and can only order salad. Some restaurants offer combination specials that feature everything from appetizers to dessert for one low price. (We are not talking about chains like Friday's and Chilis). If you aren't sure if a restaurant is in your price range, stop by and check the menu before you take your date there. This way you won't end up looking like a cheap bastard and you won't have to stop by Mcdonalds on the way home.
Service
Regardless of how good the food is, the service you get can make or break your dining experience. While new restaurants may have some unexperienced wait staff, older, established restaurants usually have the family atmosphere and know how to treat their customers right. Picking a place like this will ensure that they will give you alone time and the owner may even send over something for free if you tell them it is your first date.
Ambience
Just like those candles you have at home surrounding your bed, a restaurant needs some ambience to make your dining experience everything it should be. This can depend on your date's personality; from quaint family-owned restaurants, to a place that overlooks the water, try to pick something that you think she would enjoy. Try to remember something she told you about herself, like maybe that she hates sushi or loves the outdoors. Remembering what she told you goes a long way.
As long as you do your homework and use your skills wisely, you can easily impress any date. And hopefully you will be given a shot at conquering the bra trick later in the night.
