Being a wingman is a very important job and one that you shouldn't take lightly. Your performance during the night can make or break a hookup for your buddy. Set Your Goals

A wingman is never selfish. His eye is always on the prize--for his friend, not himself. Even if you happen to be single, tonight is all about your friend. This means putting your own needs aside for the night and focusing on getting the girl for your buddy. Do whatever it takes and then work your game on the side or another night.

The Look

Of course you want to look good when you go out, but, you can't upstage your friend. You still need to look presentable enough to be able to distract her friend when the time comes to make a move. Don't bother putting in your very best effort or you'll end up leaving with the girl while your friend goes home alone. It is important that you make sure your friend looks his best, so help him pick out his outfit and remind him to spray some cologne.

Communication Is Key

Make sure you both agree on signals, codes, or body language he might use to let you know he's interested in a woman in case you aren't standing right next to each other when he decides to make a move. This will also help you know how to act and what to say throughout the night.

Have No Fear

A good wingman isn't shy. He can be aggressive, but not pushy, and isn't worried about rejection. Most importantly, he is talkative to easy uncomfortable silences and chats up her friends to find out if she's single and looking. Make friends with her group and they will let him close to their friend.
